2021 Country Reports on Human Rights Practices

The State Department released the 2021 Human Rights Report, which reviews government respect for internationally recognized civil, political, and worker rights. The report promotes government accountability for protecting human rights and fundamental freedoms. Each Human Rights Report covers a country and is organized by the same 7 sections to record issues in a fair and transparent way. The sections include human rights to which every person is entitled – no matter who they are or where they live.
The Report aims to raise awareness of the progress made, the ground lost, and the work that remains in ensuring respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms everywhere.
