As you know, I am nearing the end of my tenure here in Moldova. This will be my last message on the Independence Day of the Republic of Moldova as ambassador, and on this occasion I want to wish Moldova and its people success, peace and prosperity.
During the past three years, I have had the good fortune of meeting so many inspiring people here in Moldova from every background, working for a better future for themselves and their families.
For our part, the United States will continue to support the Moldovan people as they strive for a decent living, fair elections, a government that is truly responsive to their needs, and a transparent and independent judiciary. The United States will always remain a reliable partner for Moldova and a good friend to its citizens, and I am sure that our strong relationship will continue.
