The Open World Program

The Open World Program offers short-term professional visits to the U.S. to emerging political and civic leaders from Moldova and other countries. It aims to promote mutual understanding between Moldova and the United States by enabling Moldovan leaders to experience American political and civic life and to share ideas and expertise with their American counterparts.

Most Open World visits last 10 days and focus on a theme that relates to the participants’ professional or civic work, exposing them to ideas and practices they can adapt to their own situations.  The participants are selected and nominated by officials of the U.S. Embassy.

In Moldova the program is administered by the American Councils for International Education. http://americancouncils.md
