The United States-Moldova Strategic Dialogue will meet on Wednesday in Chisinau after being relaunched by Secretary Blinken and FM Popescu in Washington in April 2022. This will be a chance for the United States and Moldova to deepen our cooperation on key issues including increasing economic opportunities and energy resilience, promoting the rule of law and good governance, countering security and cyber threats, and further developing people-to-people ties.
Participants from the United States will include: Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Dereck J. Hogan; Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) Lisa Johnson; Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Russia, Ukraine, and Eurasia Laura Cooper; Brig. Gen. Daniel T. Lasica; USAID Deputy Assistant Administrator in the Bureau for Europe and Eurasia Mark Simakovsky; Deputy Assistant Secretary for Academic Programs in the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs Ethan Rosenzweig; Europe Director in the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor (DRL) Tom Selinger; Peace Corps Regional Director for Europe, Mediterranean, and Asia Rebecca Sharp; and others from throughout the United States Government.
